Agency Hosting Platforms With Multi Site Management Tools

4 Agency Hosting Platforms With Multi-Site Management Tools

Running an agency means you are responsible for more than your own site. You are managing 10, 30, maybe 60 client websites at once, and every one of them needs to stay fast, secure, and online. The hosting provider you pick has to keep up with that kind of workload without bleeding your margins dry or making your team jump through hoops to get basic tasks done.

So the question is less about which host is "best" in some general sense and more about which one actually fits how your agency operates, what your clients expect, and what you can afford to spend each month.

We looked at 4 platforms that are built for this kind of work: GreenGeeks, Kinsta, SiteGround, and Cloudways. Each one handles multi-site management differently, and the gaps between them are worth paying attention to.

Note: Pricing and performance metrics may vary based on configuration, region, and testing conditions.

GreenGeeks: Built for Agencies That Want Full Control at a Lower Cost

greengeeks

GreenGeeks runs 3 reseller hosting tiers. The entry-level RH-25 plan starts at $19.95 per month, the RH-50 sits at $24.95 per month, and the RH-80 comes in at $34.95 per month. Those prices are based on 12-month prepaid billing. The top-tier plan gives you 160 GB of SSD storage, 1,600 GB of data transfer, and support for up to 80 cPanel accounts.

What Agencies Actually Get

Every reseller account comes with WHM access, which lets you create custom hosting packages for each client with specific storage, bandwidth, email, and database limits. You can run bulk operations for password resets, account suspensions, and backup management, all from one place.

One detail that saves agencies real money: WHMCS billing automation is included at no extra cost. A standalone WHMCS license typically adds an extra monthly cost depending on the plan, so this adds up over a year. The integration handles client provisioning, recurring billing, invoices, and payment processing through gateways like PayPal, Stripe, and Authorize.net.

You also get up to 30 free cPanel migrations, white-label hosting so your branding stays front and center, and a free domain reseller account powered by eNom. Developer tools like SSH access, Git, WP-CLI, Drush, staging environments, and multiple PHP versions are all part of the package.

Performance Worth Noting

According to independent benchmark testing, GreenGeeks recorded a Time to First Byte of around 395ms in North America. Under a load of 100 concurrent users, response times remained stable under load with no reported errors, and that was without a CDN running.

Independent testing found an average load time of 1.29 seconds, with First Contentful Paint at 0.6 seconds and Largest Contentful Paint at 0.8 seconds. Measured uptime between 2024 and 2025 came in at 99.98%, which works out to less than 4 minutes of downtime per month. Some independent tests have reported uptime reaching up to 99.99%.

GreenGeeks uses a container-based hosting setup, giving each account kernel-level isolation with its own computing resources. Problems on one account do not bleed into another.

For agencies that need more power down the line, VPS options range from $39.95 to $109.95 per month, and dedicated servers start at $169 per month.

Kinsta: Premium WordPress Management With a Premium Price Tag

kinsta

Kinsta runs exclusively on Google Cloud Platform's premium-tier network. Their agency plans start at $284 per month for 20 WordPress installations, with the Agency 40 plan at $375 per month and the Agency 60 at $563 per month. Each site sits in its own container with fully isolated resources.

Agency Tools and Partner Program

The MyKinsta dashboard gives agencies a single interface to manage all client sites, and the Kinsta API allows rapid deployment across multiple projects. Free migrations are handled by WordPress migration specialists, and Cloudflare Enterprise integration comes included.

Kinsta earned the number 1 ranking in G2's 2026 Best Web Hosting Software Products category out of 1,461 products, and they serve a large global customer base across multiple countries. Their Agency Partner Program includes training, marketing support, and 10% lifetime commissions on referrals.

The quality is strong, but the cost is too. At $284 per month for 20 sites, that breaks down to over $14 per site before you factor in overages. For agencies managing a high volume of smaller client accounts, the math gets tight quickly compared to a platform like GreenGeeks, where the RH-80 plan supports up to 80 accounts at $34.95 per month.

SiteGround: Solid Features, Higher Entry for Resellers

siteground

SiteGround powers millions of websites and runs on Google Cloud infrastructure. Their shared plans start at $17.99 per month for the StartUp tier, with GrowBig at $29.99 and GoGeek at $44.99. But for actual reseller functionality, you are looking at their Cloud Reseller package, which starts at $100 per month.

What the Cloud Reseller Plan Includes

Cloud Reseller plans come with white-label Site Tools, collaborator access, granular client permissions, and the ability to create custom hosting packages. You can assign different resource levels and dashboard permissions per site, and ownership transfer settings let you hand off full control to clients or keep partial access as a collaborator.

SiteGround offers qualifying agencies a free 3-month trial and free site migrations through their WordPress Migrator plugin or a white-glove service. The GoGeek tier adds Git integration, white-label backend branding, and priority support.

The tools here are well-built. But at $100 per month as a starting point for reseller features, it costs noticeably more than GreenGeeks for agencies running many small to mid-sized client sites.

Cloudways: Flexible Infrastructure for Technically Comfortable Teams

cloudways

Cloudways, a managed cloud hosting platform, takes a different approach. Plans start at $11 per month on DigitalOcean servers, and agencies can choose from 5 cloud providers: DigitalOcean, Vultr, Linode, AWS, and Google Cloud. Billing is pay-as-you-go with no long-term contracts.

Agency Partnership and Tools

Their Agency Partnership Program has over 3,000 members and is free to join. Benefits are tiered based on monthly hosting spend. Bronze and Silver partners get access to a WordPress migration plugin, while Gold and Platinum partners receive unlimited free migrations handled by the Cloudways team. Advanced or Premium support add-ons, worth $100 to $500, are included for free depending on your tier.

Cloudways includes a feature called SafeUpdates, priced at $3 per site per month, which handles WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates by backing up, testing on staging, and rolling back if something breaks. A vulnerability scanner built with Patchstack monitors for threats in real time.

Reported performance metrics include uptime around 99.99% and average TTFB near 400ms. The Large plan at $88 per month gives room to host several client sites on a single server with team collaboration features.

Cloudways works well for developers who want to pick their infrastructure provider and manage resources at a granular level. The trade-off is that it requires more technical comfort than a platform like GreenGeeks, where WHM and WHMCS handle most of the heavy lifting out of the box.

Picking the Right Fit for Your Agency

Each of these 4 platforms serves a different kind of agency.

GreenGeeks puts the pieces together in a way that works for agencies at most stages of growth. You get white-label branding, WHMCS billing automation included for free, up to 80 cPanel accounts at $34.95 per month, and performance metrics that compare competitively with higher-priced hosting providers.

The response time under load, 99.98% uptime, and container-based isolation mean your client sites stay fast and stable without you paying a premium for it. When performance per dollar matters, and for most agencies it does, GreenGeeks makes a strong case.
